FAQ

How much does my team need to raise to play in Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer?

Each 8-12 person team will be required to raise a minimum of $10,000, collectively. We encourage all players to contribute to this minimum equally and raise their share of the funds – a team works best when all players are contributing!

Where do my fundraising dollars go?

Funds raised through Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer support The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation as they work to CONQUER CANCER IN OUR LIFETIME!

When you make a gift to the Foundation, your money will help to:

  • fund the most promising research projects in the country on all types of cancer
  • provide information services and support programs in the community
  • advocate for public policies that prevent cancer and help those living with it

Do we bring our own jerseys or are they provided? When will we receive the jersey? Will we be able to personalize them?

When you arrive on site on Game Day, your Team Captain will receive all of the long sleeve Reebok t-shirts for you entire team, in the sizes indicated by all Players during their respective registrations. We will also be providing white bibs that can be pinned to the back of your Reebok long-sleeve t-shirt, where you will be able to write whatever you would like (we suggest writing in the name of the person [or people] you are playing for). If you would like to create your own team jersey, please feel free to do so. You can call the Road Hockey Office for more information on jerseys at 877.541.I’M IN (4646)

What is the last day for registration?

Due to venue size restrictions, Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer can only accommodate a certain number of teams. We predict that the event will sell out before a final registration date is needed, therefore, at this time, there is no final day for registration. Keep checking the RHCC website for further details and make sure to reserve your team’s spot TODAY!

How does someone register on to my team?

When you invite an individual to register on to your team, you must first provide them with your Team Name. When the individual goes to register, they must choose the ‘Join A Team’ option, then enter the Team Name they’ve been provided into the profile field labeled ‘Team Name’. When they finish filling out the rest of the registration form and click ‘Submit’ they will automatically be added to your team roster.

If you are having difficulty registering an individual onto your team, please call the Road Hockey Office at 877.541.I’M IN (4646). They will be able to provide you with your team name, add a player to your team manually and help with any other questions you need answered.

What is the minimum age to participate?

You have to be at least 16 years old to participate

I don’t remember my Password or Username, can you send it to me?

If you forget your Password or Username, please call into the Road Hockey Office at 877.541.I’M IN (4646) and one of the Road Hockey Coaches will be able to help you.

What happens if a teammate doesn’t fundraise enough?

If a team has not reached the overall team minimum in the weeks leading up to Game Day, they will be able to make a delayed donation. A delayed donation is a commitment by each player on a team to continue fundraising after the event until they’ve contributed the balance needed to help their team reach the Team Minimum. This is tracked by having each player provide their Credit Card information so that, if the team were still short come the delayed donation deadline, the remaining amount would be charged/divided equally among the team. A Team Captain can also fill out a delayed donation form for the entire team.

Will there be a prize for the team who wins the tournament (most games)?

This is a fundraising focused event, which is why the real winners will be the Individual, Team & Corporate Team that fundraises the most. Even if you aren’t that person or team, when you reach your fundraising minimum that is a huge accomplishment and a reward in itself which you should and will be very proud of. We do realize that there is a competitive aspect to it, and we will keep score of the games and keep tabs on wins and losses. We will configure divisions to match teams. We will post standings of the divisions, but not reward anything for winning. This shouldn’t stop teams from creating your own prizes amongst yourselves should you decide to form your own division.

What is the minimum amount of players I can have on a team?

You can have a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 12 players. You will have 4 players on the pad at a time (3 players + a goalie) but with 5 games we feel that having 4 subs will be needed.
